I just want to take this time to
thank you for taking part our Team New Brunswick Under 18 Football
ID/Developmental camp. The camp was a great success as we reached our goal of
providing all the players with the base skills and fundamentals. We saw great
improvement and development in most all areas of the game. We feel confident
that everyone left the camp a better football player.
Now it’s time to put what we have learned on the football field into practice!!! Football New Brunswick is pleased to
kick off its spring U18 Pillar Football League, April 8th (weather
permitting).
The league will see teams from
Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton compete 3 times over the 5 week
schedule. The program consists of 15 sessions, 3 of which are modified
games.
Players born in 1996/1997 from all
high schools are asked to come together and represent their area this spring as
they take on athletes from all around the province.
The Pillar league is part of
the Team New Brunswick Under 18 Football program. On July 15th 2013,
Moncton will host the Football Canada Cup. This event has teams from all over
the country competing for a national championship over a week long tournament.
The Pillar League is a starting point for Team New Brunswick on their journey
to the Canada Cup.
Once the Pillar League ends on
May 12th the U18 Team New Brunswick Coaching staff will send out
invitations for a selection camp that will be held at Mount Allison University
May 24, 25, 26. Following the selection camp, coaches will form their 53 man
roster and will begin preparation for the national competition.
In order to have the chance to
represent New Brunswick in the 2013 Football Canada Cup tournament, players
must take part in the spring Pillar League and get invited to the selections
camp. Players of all experience and levels are asked to join the Pillar League.
It is a tremendous opportunity to develop and improve as a football player
through great coaching from CIS, NBHSFL and AFL coaches.
The cost is $190 and every player receives $50 worth of raffle tickets upon checking in to the first practice - players will keep the money from the tickets if they choose to sell them, giving them the option to recover $50 of their registration fee.
