News from parents meeting

Tonight the following info was shared by Michelle Harrison, Pattie Durling, and Kent Murphy.  I did not take notes so if I missed something please add a comment.

• First game is this Friday, September 7th, 7 pm, Rocky Stone Park, 811, St. George Boulevard, Moncton.  Check out this Google Map for directions.
• Players and coaches will be departing from FHS on a rented bus at 4 pm.  The cost of the bus is covered by the team.
• Players must have two meals for the bus ride - one pre-game meal for the ride to Moncton and one post-game meal fro the ride home.  The bus will not be stopping at a restaurant after the game.
• Players currently do not have a gym locker to store their football gear at the school and they are not permitted to bring football gear on the school bus in the morning.  The team manager is trying to see if the players can get gym lockers on Thursday.  If this is not possible it may be necessary for parents to deliver football gear and game uniforms to the players at 3:30 pm on Friday.  The players will be given more info on this at Thursday night practice.
• Parents are encouraged to sit in a group near the 40 yard line opposite the FHS bench.  Enthusiasm and cheering are required from all!
• Parents are encouraged to car pool for Friday's game.

• Volunteers were identified for home games to manage the sticks, 50-50 tickets, clothing sales, and canteen.  These volunteers are authorized to select assistants as necessary.  It is a "football-parent-sin" to decline to assist a volunteer!!

• Parents of grade 11 football players are encouraged to speak to Kent Murphy about the 2013 Canada Cup.  This a great opportunity for the younger players to hone their skills and leadership over the spring and summer.  The 2013 Canada Cup will be hosted in Moncton, NB.
